At the end of the MET course we presented Brick City Tours to the RIT community and the members of the Rochester tourism industry, CEOs from VisitRochester and Genesee Country Village & Museum. The reviews were exceptionally positive. One CEO applauded our team as being ahead of the tourism industry, especially how we focused on the tourism experience as a whole. We are using blended theory to contextually interact with both digital and physical spaces on the RIT campus.
Our strategic approach to delivering unique visits rely on careful implementation Pre Tour, During Tour and Post Tour [7,8]. Approaching tourism-centered services through integrated digital services uncovers opportunities for prospective students to become RIT ambassadors and attend our university. The design of BCT servicing RIT is only a small part of what our infrastructure is designed to do. Although RIT campus tours provide students and faculty with the opportunity to design and test our digital tourism approach, the greater opportunity is for BCT to scale to a variety of historical destinations in the Finger Lakes region of western New York.
